June At The Unity Agency

Unity Agency June Blog

Grey skies, drizzle, England out of the Euros, welcome to British Summertime.
Whilst the sun may not be shining as much as we would like and things may not always be going our way, June has been a very busy month here at The Unity Agency.

At the end of May we welcomed Late Nite Tuff Guy from Australia for a mini tour, warming himself up for his full UK and European Tour.
His whistle stop, sold out tour took him to Cardiff, Buckinghamshire, London and Bristol.

The super quick tour theme continued when Andy Smith had a whirlwind tour of Asia, performing in Hong Kong and Beijing in the same weekend. Less than 72 hours after setting off from the UK, he was back home, remarkably energised and set off for 3 shows in Greece. There’s no stopping that man.

Our very own Pablo Contraband mingled with the rich and horses at Royal Ascot, top hat and tails were the order of the day although he did take off his top hat to DJ, a royally fabulous time was had by all. His June Mix is now available on Mix Cloud

When not out performing, our artists also make some pretty awesome tunes and most of them have been in the studio tapping out beats, remixing, reworking, revisioning and launching them into the digital world.

The Reflex has been creating more classics for his Revisions series with Earth, Wind & Fire and Marvin Gaye getting The Reflex treatment. Released to rave reviews he then somehow managed to fit in time to get married! Congratulations Nicolas from all of the Unity family.
He played his first show as a married man last Friday at XOYO and “smashed it”

Maurice Aymard has been working hard in the studio with J.E.E.P for brand new track Mellocoton – available right now on Beat Port

Rare Wiri have added all of their releases since 2008 to Soundcloud including some cracking mixes from Rayko and James Rod. Watch this space for more news about this formidable duo from the Rare Wiri camp, very soon.

Kraak & Smaak’s new album Juicy Fruit squeezed fresh tunes into the world – we love it and just looking at the cover makes us want to eat sweets all day.

Eskimo Twins delighted and definitely did not bore us with their Je M’Ennuie – now available on Spotify.

Heretic played a hectic late, late show in Berlin earlier this month with little sleep but smiling faces all round the club. His single Rhomboid is now available and if he gets just a few more likes on his Facebook page he’s offering his rework of IDORU for free on SoundCloud. You can get your hands on it for free when he hits 2000 but in the meantime buy Rhomboid on iTunes.

Head over to Soundcloud for new mixes from Young Pulse – his broken wrist is now healed and he’s back in action.

M.ono & Luvless label Rose Records are celebrating their 5 year anniversary and are marking the occasion with a 12” release – test pressings have been done and it’s sounding great – keep checking Soundcloud for snippets.

We welcomed brand new talent Sam Redmore and Fé Vargas to the Unity Agency family this month.
Birmingham based Sam has been described by 6 Music’s Craig Charles “One of the UK’s biggest soul & funk DJs” – Craig Charles, BBC Radio 6 Music.
Cuban Fé is a powerhouse of rhythm and really can’t wait for her to come to the UK to spread her Cuban vibes soon. Listen to her exclusive mix for The Unity Agency on Soundcloud.

And that brings us to the end of the month and we’re full circle back to Late Nite Tuff Guy who maybe hasn’t unpacked the Aussie sunshine from his record bag yet judging by the dark clouds, but he’s sure to have it ready for El Dorado Festival on July 1st which kicks off the start of his Summer Tour.

LNTG 2016 Tour Dates

So that was June. July is tomorrow and we’re ready (after a quick cuppa…)
