It’s been a busy few years for South London resident Louis Jaquet, aka Kid Who. Since his debut 12″, the last in the now legendary Mindless Boogie edits series, he has continued to develop his sound through releases and remixes on labels such as Pizzico Nobel, OM, Nang, Cocktail d’Amore and Fine Art Recordings, to name a few. The variation and scope of his productions has earned him support from a wide range of DJs including Todd Terje, Tim Sweeney, diskJokke and Ivan Smagghe.
Having taken a break from a busy remix schedule he has spent the last year focusing on his label Bravura (whose releases boast work from Crimes of the Future’s Scott Fraser, Indonesian producer Jon Kusuma / Space System and Bravura co-founder Andrew Yukon) and his own production. He is currently readying a new string of releases for a variety of labels – the results of months of studio experiments with cassettes and budget digital synths. Look out for an acid-flavoured 12″ for Rotten City, a new EP for Bravura and some collaborative work, also in the pipeline.
Just as comfortable in the booth as he is in the studio, and with over a decade of club experience, his varied blend of leftfield disco, machine-driven house and Balearic rarities never fails to excite a crowd. The past two years have seen him take his unique sound international with headline and festival appearances around the world.
